Terms & Conditions

These terms cover two things: using this website, and commissioning work from Schehar Yar Khan. Every commission is also confirmed in a written quote and agreement, and where that agreement differs from anything here, the agreement wins.

Nothing on this site is a binding offer. A booking exists only once a written quote is accepted and any deposit is received.

You are welcome to browse, share links and get in touch. You may not scrape the site, attempt to breach its security, submit enquiries by automated means, or misrepresent who you are.

Information here is provided in good faith and kept as accurate as possible, but it is general in nature. Pricing indications are starting points, not quotes — the figure for your project depends on scope, crew, travel and delivery.

• A date is held only once the agreement is signed and the deposit is paid. Until then the date remains available to others.
• The deposit is typically a percentage of the total, is set out in your quote, and is non-refundable because it takes the date off the calendar.
• The balance is due as stated in your agreement — usually before delivery for events, and on agreed milestones for ongoing retainers.
• Invoices are payable within 14 days unless agreed otherwise. Late payment may attract statutory interest and delay delivery.

If you cancel, the deposit is retained, and cancellations close to the shoot date may incur further charges where the date can no longer realistically be filled. The exact scale is in your agreement.

Postponement is accommodated where the new date is free, and the deposit moves with it. If the new date is unavailable, the booking is treated as a cancellation.

If illness, accident or another circumstance beyond reasonable control prevents attendance, a suitably qualified replacement will be arranged where possible, or all money paid will be refunded in full. Liability is limited to that refund.

Copyright in every photograph and film remains with the author under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. What you receive is a licence to use the work, and the scope of that licence is set out in your agreement.

• Private commissions — a personal licence to print, share and post the images. Commercial resale is not included.
• Commercial commissions — the media, territory and duration agreed in your quote. Wider use can be licensed separately.
• Edits — please do not crop, filter or otherwise alter delivered files for publication, as the edit is part of the work. Credit is appreciated wherever it is practical.

Selected work may be shown in this portfolio, in pitches and on social channels. You can ask for your project to be excluded, or held back until a launch date, without it affecting your booking or your price. Say so in writing and it will be honoured.

Turnaround times are quoted per project and start from the shoot date, or from receipt of everything needed from you. Files are delivered digitally. Delivered work is archived for the period stated in your agreement, after which it may be deleted — please keep your own backup of anything you want to keep permanently.

Please make sure that access, permissions and any location or venue fees are arranged, that the people being filmed or photographed know it is happening, and that the environment is safe to work in. Where a shoot involves other people's property, brands or music, it is your responsibility to confirm those rights are cleared.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, total liability for any commission is limited to the fees paid for it, and there is no liability for indirect or consequential loss such as lost profit or lost opportunity.

If something goes wrong, raise it as soon as possible and it will be dealt with directly and promptly. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
